Ecotreat Clear for Murky turbid water and smelly silt & sludge

PRODUCT INFORMATION
EcoTreat Clear is a natural product (calcium carbonate) that consists of the remains of billions of tiny fossilized marine invertebrates. The product is processed into minute particles averaging only 5 microns (5 thousandths of a millimetre) in diameter. The smallness of the particles is one of the key properties that provides the product benefits listed below. EcoTreat Clear can be used to treat organic sludge in lakes, ponds, reservoirs, canals, streams & rivers.

HOW THE PRODUCT WORKS
The tiny particles in EcoTreat Clear act as a natural flocculant which aggregates tiny organic particles and algae in the water. These aggregates then sink to the bottom of the water column and form a layer on the sludge. Cloudy or green water thus becomes clearer allowing greater penetration of sunlight.

The EcoTreat Clear on the surface layers of the sludge provides an ideal habitat for the microorganisms which degrade the organic matter in the sludge. The porous nature of the particles carries trapped oxygen to the sludge which is essential in the aerobic breakdown of organic matter. Anaerobic sludges tend to go acidic, which slows down degradation rates, and the calcium carbonate in EcoTreat Clear neutralizes the acidity thus promoting degradation activity.

PRODUCT USE
EcoTreat Clear is best applied in spring and thereafter every 6 months. A typical application rate is 250g per square metre or 25 kg for every 100 m2 (125 sq yd). The product should be applied as a suspension distributed or sprayed over the water surface.

ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY
EcoTreat Clear is non-hazardous, non-corrosive, and harmless to humans, animals, aquatic life and plants. Some people are hypersensitive or allergic to some compounds and therefore direct contact with skin and eyes should be avoided.
